IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL FORMULA INVESTING CLIENTS
We are pleased to announce the upcoming merger of Formula Investing’s operations into Gotham Asset Management, the advisor to your Formula Investing account. While as a result of the merger we will be closing the Formula Investing accounts, the merger will provide Formula clients with access to other attractive investment options that are based on the valuation principles utilized by Formula Investing.
Formula Investing was launched to provide investors with a simple way to invest following the principles outlined in The Little Book that Beats the Market. While we have been very pleased with the performance of the Formula Investing accounts, we believe that utilizing these valuation principles to invest on both the long and the short-side will provide additional benefits over long-only investing. Specifically, by investing in the companies we believe to be the most undervalued and selling (shorting) the companies that are the most overvalued, we hope to profit from mispriced securities on both sides.
Gotham currently manages over $4 billion for institutional and private investors primarily through equity long/short hedge funds and long/short mutual funds that are offered through an institutional share class. These long/short funds follow Gotham’s value-oriented investing principles and utilize the firm’s proprietary research and portfolio management expertise.
In order to focus on long/short investing, we will no longer be offering the Formula Investing accounts and all accounts will be closed on March 31, 2014. To assist investors during the transition period, all management fees for Formula Investing accounts will be waived from January 1, 2014 through March 31, 2014.
Formula Investing is operated by Gotham Asset Management, LLC.
